As the sands fall...
I only realized how close the wedding is when I saw the countdown on Junby's computer :P Since I've been living it a day at a time, I kind of forgot that the wedding is more or less two weeks away. Being sick over the weekend didn't help either. I had a full schedule for last weekend and only barely half were done due to the untimely demands of my body for rest. Junby arrived from Manila today, having arrived from the US last Sunday. At last, he's around to help me finish the tiny details.
I've already bought the cloth for his barong. He will have his measurements taken this weekend since my aunt assured me that it will only take two-three days if done by her tailor. Take note, Tailor and not sastre. So he's a guy who makes men's clothes :) We finally settled our payments for the wedding cakes today, leaving in the capable care of Ann Co, the fruit cake my tita from the US, Tita Bing, sent. This was so that we can be in keeping with tradition of keeping the top most layer of the wedding cake for the first wedding anniversary.
Then I had my measurements taken for my wedding dress and yup, Mommy E was right, I had gained a few pounds (instead of shedding them due to stress :P ) so it was good we had a follow-up on my measurements done a few months back. That's as far as we got with wedding-related stuff today because most of today was spent getting the apartment Junby and I have leased ready for his occupancy. He will stay there in the few days remaining before the wedding instead of spending for a hotel. Another blessing was my Tita Hot's generosity in lending us her car for Junby to use while he is in town. That's a load off in terms of cash spent for a rental car as well.
Tomorrow we have several 'to do' items on top of our logging in quality work so it'll be a test of time management indeed. Junby is still working remotely until the 10th of December so he too still needs to report to work same as I do. I am just grateful my office is quite understanding of our situation and allows me to work remotely at times. Continue to keep us in your prayers. We'll be needing it for the homestretch. :)
P.S. Thank you to the sisters of CYA who put up a surprise 'harana' for me last Friday. Truly I wasn't expecting it (having had fever most of the day made me quite slow on the uptake :P ). Thank you to all. It was heartwarming to say the least, hearing all the good I seemed to have done. It was a much needed emotional boost to help me deal with wedding-related stress. Thanks uli. Tomorrow is another day! As the sands fall...the day draws near when God's faithfulness becomes clear....:)
